The Desert Song @ 8:03 AM
Verse 1:
This is my prayer in the desert
And all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in the hunger in me
My God is a God who provides
Verse 2:
And this is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flames
Chorus:
And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon forged against me shall remain
I will
rejoice I will declare
God is my victory and He is here
Verse 3:
And this is my prayer in the battle
And triumph is still on it's way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I'll stand
Bridge:
All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship
Verse 4:
This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be
emptied again
The seed I've
received I will sow
When reading through a friend's post, I realised the emptiness and dryness inside me. I've ran away and forgotten the work set out for me. I've drunk from the cup of
worldly pleasure and became drunk, disillusioned with the life I live. Where is God now? Who is God?
And all that within me feels dry
A steady draft of wind blows against me. Ye little plant, how do you hold? What soil is that beneath you? Holy ground? Where do you get your water? From the Spring of life?
So refine me Lord through the Flames
In this time of busyness and the stress of exams, don't let your faith fade away. I've always wondered why people become so much more distant from God in times where they need him the most. Now I know. The cup of sin and worldly pleasure is the poison of our hearts. Keep God near always and naturally we will be drawn closer to Him in times of need.
My God is a God who Provides
What's next? How? The troubled soul calls to the maker. He pleads, yearns, surrenders. God break me once more. That I may realise my wicked ways and turn from the darkness. Woe to me who knows so little. I am but nothing.
This is my prayer in the hunger in me
My God is a God who provides
And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon forged against me shall remain
I will
rejoice I will declare
God is my victory and He is here
Amen.
